The funding has been extended to every month through the summer
until September 2009 and then will hopefully continue again during the
winter months into 2010.
The Somerset County Golf Partnership has received
funding from Sport England to run coaching sessions throughout the county
to enable young golfers to improve their skills. The programme will run
monthly from November to March and every other month during the summer
season.
15 juniors from Tickenham and surrounding clubs have been nominated by
their respective junior organisers to attend the coaching at
Tickenham.
October Open Days

Child Try Golf FREE

Thank you to all the schools who
responded and gave out leaflets inviting their pupils to try golf
FREE.
The open days at half term were a fantastic success with just over
250 youngsters trying golf for free! The children represented 30
schools from the area. Every child was given a club to borrow FREE,
some range balls FREE, group tuition FREE
and Mums and Dads tea & coffee FREE.
At the weekend we gave the parents the same experience, again
all for FREE. Thank you all who
attended and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

GOLFMARK & CLUBMARK
Tickenham Golf Club has achieved Golfmark and Clubmark
accreditation. We are the 1st Golf Club in Somerset to achieve
this. Clubmark is a cross-sport quality accreditation for clubs with
junior sections. National governing bodies of sport (NGBs) and
county sport partnerships (CSPs) award Clubmark to proven high quality
clubs.
