Golf Tuition

The core of our business is teaching golf at all levels.  Tickenham Golf Club has 4 PGA Qualified Professionals. Andrew Sutcliffe Owner and Head Professional was made a Fellow of the PGA in 2006.  Sarah Jarrett, Adrian Smith and Frazer Amey complete the team.  They all maintain their "AA" status within the PGA ensuring you have lessons with Professionals who are current in their profession.  All Professionals are Criminal Record Checked (CRC)  to enable them to teach children and attend all relevant child protection courses. Unlike some other sports, you cannot learn to play golf without expert tuition.  Lessons are essential before venturing on a course.

Video Coaching - DVD to take away!

I suspect that not everyone will wish to see their drive/swing/putt recorded on camera, but this is actually an excellent visual aid. If you would like to make use of this splendid facility, please ring and book a lesson. You may be pleasantly surprised and end up as the new Club star.

Group Tuition

This is an excellent way to learn and meet other new golfers.  The five week courses include learning the main swing, pitching, putting, chipping and playing on the golf course. 

Learn to Play in a Day!

Experience all the facets of the game in a day with expert tuition.  Learn in a small group.  This is an excellent taster session covering putting, chipping, pitching, main swing, etiquette, basic rules and play a few holes on the course.  Refreshments and lunch are provided.

Ladies Sunday Classes

These sessions are run fortnightly during school term time.  They are for beginners and experienced players.  Each session focuses on one particular skill.  Meet other lady golfers and enjoy a free drink afterwards!  Please phone for dates and times.

Short Game Master Class

This is a five week course for established golfers.  Our unique scientific formula has many proven methods to drastically improve your short game scoring.  You will learn about club and ball technology along side shot techniques.  Not to be missed!

Putting Master Class

This is a three week course for established golfers concentrating solely on putting.  Study putter technology and putting technique.

Free Tuition

If you are a beginner and never had a lesson with us before you are eligible.  Sessions are held on Sundays at 11:00am and Thursdays at 6:00pm.  These sessions need to be booked in advance.  Golf clubs are provided free if required, but you will need £3 for your basket of golf balls.  The tuition is FREE.  In April we link with the English Golf Union (EGU) and provide tuition and golf balls free.  Look out on the front page for dates of these sessions.

Junior Group Tuition

Our 'TIGER' programme is established and very well known in the area.  We have group sessions every week during school term time.  We maintain a very low price by charging for 5 or 6 weeks in advance which includes tuition with PGA Qualified Professionals, clubs if required, range balls and play on the course during the lessons.  Our facilities allow us to teach the children etiquette, rules, putting, chipping, pitching, bunker shots, main swing and play on the course.   Our structured teaching programme uses the Golf Foundation Passport Scheme. There are 5 levels in the passport and as juniors pass each level they receive certificates and may collect badges.

Junior Holiday Club

Lessons are held on Wednesdays during School holidays.  They run from 10-12am.  This consists of tuition and fun games on the driving range and weather permitting on the golf course as well.  There is a short break at 11ish for refreshments.  At 12am those juniors ready to play on the golf course have half an hour for lunch and  then play 9 holes of golf.

School Group Tuition

Lessons are held for several local Junior and Senior Schools.  They are either part of the School day or an after School club.  The same format detailed above in the Junior Group Tuition is used.
